CITIZENS BANK THROUGH THE YEARS
1965: | Citizens Bank of Washington County (CBWC) received its charter and set up operations in Sandersville, GA |
1971: | CBWC opened the first bank branch in the history of Washington County on the south side of Sandersville, where it still stands today. |
1997: | Continued growth necessitated a larger building for main office operations. CBWC’s main office moved from its original West Haynes Street location to a newly-constructed building in its current location at 132 S. Harris Street. |
2006: | The Bank opened a loan production office in Statesboro, GA, and established the trade name of Citizens Bank of Bulloch County for that location. |
2008: | The LPO located in Statesboro became a full-service branch and operations were moved to the new permanent facility at 425 Commerce Drive on the bypass in Statesboro. |
2015: | The company celebrated its 50th Anniversary. |
2016: | The Bank introduced a common name for each of its branches and Citizens Bank of the South (CBOTS) became the official trade name for use in all markets. |
2017: | CBOTS expanded operations into the Baldwin County area and opened our newest branch at 121 Executive Parkway in Milledgeville. |
